I have this nasty habit of doing lots of things. So this web page
captures some of those (good & bad) times. This is in honor of all the
really WOW people that i came across in the course of these
activities. My apologies to all those that I lost track of. This is to
say that you are truly remembered and welcome to give me a ping
anytime.
- Here are all the schools i ever
attended. Have degrees each of them. Never regretted it, more like thankful.
- A mid-summer with Bosch, Managing
Engineering Design and Development
- In late summer of 1993 (July), I started thinking about what i
should do for my Ph.D. At that point i was involved in Dante
II, and even wrote a simulator for it. To make a long story
short, the project we created was the Lunar Rover Initiative. This
project has since been the center of my attention. Loads of fun to put
a robot on the Moon, wether or not it works out is to be seen. The
conversation had started in June, with LunaCorp visiting CMU with the
idea of a joint lunar mission. It finally crystallized into a
presentation of the vision and it diverted the course of the CMU
planetary robotics community to a brand new robot and a completely new
focus. We finally went public with a press conference that Feb. The
rest you can read.
- In the summer-fall 1992, me and a handful of co-Indians led by
Venkat, prodded by the imbalanced representation of India in the US
media and Congress started what is regarded as the first Internet
lobbying organization India
Net. We started with about 100 members and now have 10000. I quit
after about two years, but boy did we have fun. Some of the people who
run this organization are some of the most enthusiastic and dedicated
people you will meet.
