About

Currently I am a first-year graduate student at Language Technologies Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. My research interest lies in Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. Supervised by Professor Jamie Callan and Chenyan Xiong, I am working on Entity Retreival in the Web of Data using Knowledge Graphs. Before coming to CMU, I received my Bachelor's degree (CS) from Nanjing University, where I focused on Natural Language Processing and Text Mining.

Entity Ranking based on Knowledge Bases
Advisor: Professor Jamie Callan
We propose to improve entity retrieval performance with Learning to Ranking (LeToR) framework, where we mainly focus on SVM rank and ListMLE learning algorithms. We are currently focusing on a short paper for this work.
2013/09 - 2015/06
Undergraduate Research Assistant
NLP Lab, NJU
Question Classification with Multiple Kernel Learning
Advisor: Associate Professor Xinyu Dai
We studied and implemented different tree kernels to integrate syntactic features of question text, which were then incorporated as basis-kernels in MKL algorithms to build multi-kernel classifiers. Experiemnts indicated that our multi-kernel classifier outperformed most single-kernel classifiers.

SinaMicroblog-based Chinese Social Media Mining
We developed a fast crawler to retrieve posts in personal social network using open API, and analyzed social data with NLP and machine learning algorithms. A D3.js-based platform was built to visualize the analysis results.
2012/05 - 2013/05
Undergraudate
WebSoft Group, NJU
Ontology Based Recommender System
Advisor: Professor Yuzhong Qu
We developed an item-based collaborative recommendation system based on semantic ontologies.
