Java Environment for Distributed Invocation

The Goal

To simplify distributed programming in Java by providing a simple, dynamic, flexible, and efficient communication mechanism for distributed method calls.

Results

• A paper, Providing Easier Access to Remote Objects in Client-Server Systems appeared in the Engineering Client-Server Systems mini-track of the Software Technolgy Track of the 31th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences in January, 1998
• A Caltech Technical Report offering more details than the HICSS-31 paper.

The Future of JEDI

The JEDI project has ended (although we will fix bugs and answer questions posed by email). However, the next generation of the Infospheres Infrastructure is based on JEDI's communication model. II 2.0 will provide better security, more performance and more flexibility, and should be released starting in the first half of 1998. Contact the Infospheres team for more details.
