I am a 5th year Ph.D student in the Language Technologies Institute in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. I am doing research in Statistical Machine Translation, focussing on developing syntax augmented methods to improve machine translation quality.

My work (with Andreas Zollmann) on Syntax Augmented Machine Translation is available (description) as an open-source toolkit toolkit here. Please feel free to contact me with with any questions regaring this system or post to here.

My advisor is Stephan Vogel and my committee members are Noah Smith, Alex Waibel, Kevin Knight. My thesis work focusses on the maximizing the value of labels in automatically induced synchronous grammar rules in syntax augmented MT. My thesis proposal is available on request. I expect to graduate in the Summer of 2008.
