Aurora in Pittsburgh
Yes, aurora happens in Pittsburgh... a couple times a year. Aurora happens because particles ejected by the sun (solar wind) hit atoms in Earth's upper atmosphere. Visually an aurora is gray/green and by no means this colorful, because human can't see color well under low light conditions. Aurora prediction is available online.
