Print capabilities are restricted to your Andrew account.
NetBar Capabilities/Limitations
- Your notebook or laptop must support 10-BASE-T ethernet.
- Your machine must run an operating system capable of supporting
either BOOTP or DHCP to configure its IP parameters.
Registration Requirements
- You must have a CMU affiliation (i.e., student, faculty or staff).
- Your machine must be registered with DataComm. If your machine is
already registered (i.e., if you already use your machine in a dormitory or
office) you can use the NetBar service with no additional registration.
- If your machine is not already registered with DataComm, you must
complete the NetBar registration form located in
/afs/andrew.cmu.edu/usr0/dc0m/Public/netbar-registration. Return the registration form to dc0m+@andrew.cmu.edu. You
should receive confirmation of your registration within 3-5 working days.
NOTE:
All NetBar-specific user registrations will be purged at the end of each
school year. NetBar specific machines will be required to re-register.
