I am a PhD candidate at The Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute, co-advised by Drew Bagnell and Siddhartha Srinivasa. I design methods for shared autonomy, where user inputs are combined with autonomous assistance to achieve a goal. We mainly apply these methods for smart teleoperation of assistive robotic arms. I also work on methods for information gathering, where we have developed provably near-optimal methods for active sensing. My work combines methods for decision making under uncertainty, machine learning, and human-robot interaction

I am partially funded through an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Previously, I was an undergraduate at UC Berkeley working on surgical robotics with Pieter Abbeel and Ken Goldberg.
