Mixer is a software tool for collecting data from the internet into a familiar spreadsheet interface. Mixer addresses the common scenario where a user is assembling a handy spreadsheet from data from one or more websites, collected via a repetitive process of copy-and-pasting. The ultimate goal of Mixer is to allow users to construct and share such procedures for accomplishing common repetitive data-manipulation tasks.
Mixer uses a kind of "programming by demonstration" whereby it attempts to figure out how to automate your task by watching your actions. You show Mixer how to complete the first row of your spreadsheet and then Mixer uses the same procedure you've demonstrated to fill out the rest.
In order to evaluate the tool, you will be asked to observe a brief demonstration of a task accomplished with Mixer. Then you will be asked to complete four other tasks with the tool on your own.
