CONCEPT 1: LIQUID RATTLE

The Liquid Rattle is targeted for ages 1-4 years old. The physical principal underlying the toy is buoyancy, density, solubility, and hydrophobicity. This toy rattle is a rattle that has a boat in between the two interfaces: dark blue water and clear oil. By playing with this toy, children can learn about the different properties of buoyancy, density, and solubility. The idea for this toy came from fancy soap containers with the oil/water interface and square wave simulators also with the oil/water interface that I've seen before. The Liquid Rattle will cost about $5. This cost is mostly to cover the cost of the plastic that the rattle is made out of. Because this toy is made out of plastic, it is not easily breakable, very durable, and is very safe for children to play with.
