Stupid Consumer Products

Project Description Site

What I learnt: This assignment was an exercise in brainstorming and then selling a product. Our brainstorming session was dominated by one overly extroverted person. Because of this, the variety of ideas was less, and the end result suffered because of this. I learnt that the whole reason for having a group is that that everyone can be involved so more ideas are discovered. I have heard of "brainstorming rules" although in many cases I don't think they are necesary, in our Stupid Consumer Product group it would have been useful to follow some rules, just so quieter people would feel more comfortable sharing. A good site discussing these rules is brainstorming rules. A brainstorming group that is dominated be one person, who is critical of others ideas, doesn't work well.
