Principle This toy is based on the force that can be saved in spring. This force is transfered by some gear mechanism, to the legs of the crab and make it walk.

Description The leg with #1 is what is used to wind the crab. When it is released, it walks side ways. Two outer legs move together and the two inner legs move together. Leg #2 is the longest and the leg #5 is the shortest, making the crab look like it is looking up.

About the Walking Crab The Walking Crab makes use of cheap materials. This toy is made of plastic, coil spring, and some gear mechanism. Because this doesn't use any expensive materials, the construction cost of this toy is very minimal. The leg which is used to wind the toy is the easiest part to be broken because this part will be fumbled the most by children. This is very safe toy because it doesn't move fast, it doesn't have any part that is very sharp, and this is big enough that child can't swallow it.
