The transmission process occurs in the following manner:

1. An .STL file is created with CAD software.
2. An application called QuickSlice is run on the design.
3. QuickSlice mathematically slices and orients the conceptual model into horizontal layers for build process.
4. QuickSlice incorporates the SupportWorks program that designs the necessary supports needed for building the part.
5. These programs process the design on a workstation and serve as the interface with the actual machine.
6. The information is sent via LAN to the machine for production.
