Watching Classmates Presentations

One thing I learned from classmates presentations is that there are a number of things that lead to audience distraction. For example, a person who is twirling a pen or pacing is hard to pay attention to. There are also those who rely on props too much and do not talk with the audience. Poor dress can even be a distraction! Some folks seem to be very unprepared and it rubs off on their presentation. Some presentation even seemed to be overdramatic at times. This may be a little distracting, but it is also fun at times.

On the flip side, I also saw a number of good presentations. The ones I felt were the most effective were well prepared and clear. The person was dressed appropriately and spoke loud enough and to the audience. I learned that it is best when you get a feeling that the person is relaxed and in control.
