Concept Two - Modified Shape Sorter

This idea stems from the basic shape sorter which is a very popular

toy among children. This is a more complicated and visually appealing design. It

teaches the child even more about shapes and colors and what their names are.

The child would make the same motions of placing the plastic shapes into the cylindrical container, but the result would be different. The shape would go through plastic flaps that trigger a voice to say what the shape is and what color it is. This teaches the child about the actual names and more about color. Also, little lights around the top edge would turn on when a shape is inserted making the toy very exciting and colorful. The bottom of the cylinder would be detachable to get the shapes out.
The basic physical principle is the idea of cause and effect. The child learns motor skills along with shapes and colors. There is also the idea that they can cause a reaction.
The toy would mostly be made of plastic. The lights on the top would be flush with the cylinder's surface so there is no safety concern. There would have to be a battery system of some sort to have the voice speak and the lights go off. That would be the most expensive part.
