Volleyball Challenge

How Children will Interact with the Volleyball Challenge

The Volleyball Challenge is an amusing yet simple toy which helps children build their hand-eye coordination skills. The simple design allows for the toy to be used in a variety of ways by the child, but the basic goal is to pass the wooden ball back and forth from one end of the frame to the other. Of course children may make this into a competition to see who can catch the ball the most consecutive times.

Principles of the Volleyball Challenge

The principle of the Volleyball Challenge is simple projectile motion. The child can see that when a force is applied to the frame the ball will move through the air with a certain velocity and direction. This demonstrates the action-reaction pair of physics.

Cost, Durability, and Safety

The cost of the Volleyball Challenge is only $10 based on materials (wood for the frame and ball with a string connecting the two). Durability is based on care, but so long as sharp objects are kept away from the string the Volleyball Challenge is guaranteed to last for up to five years. Due to the small size of the ball, this toy is not safe for children under 5 years of age.
