Musical Kaleidoscope
- This toy functions in a similar way to the musical car. The child looks through the kaleidoscope and spins it, and as they do so, music is produced through the same music box that is contained within the musical car. As with the musical car, the kaleidoscope can be taken apart to replace the music box within.
- The kaleidoscope links visual and auditory by allowing children to see abstract shapes while listening to music, and therefore gives a basic understanding of speed and acceleration (or rhythm and tempo).
- The toy would be inexpensive to produce, as its components and mechanisms are relatively simple. As one solid unit with no separate components apart from the removable music box, the toy is both durable and safe for young children to use.
