Since the Moving 4th to Engineering event, we made multiple changes, both with the manufacturing process and design of the toy.
Manufacturing Changes
Instead of using electrical tape or solder, we used copper tape to connect the wires to the magnet. The copper tape created a better connection than the electrical tape, and didn't demagnetize the magnet because there wasn't an excess amount of heat applied
Wire was used to connect the magnets together in the prototype. Our final toy had a long strip of copper connecting all the magnets
Design Changes
Different color LEDs were used to make the toy more fun
Instead of putting the small resistor in each LED block, we put a large resistor in the battery block
Our prototype had a hole on every face. Since we weren't using a majority of the holes, we just took them out during the laser cutting process
Coloring the sides made connecting the blocks a lot more simple.
