Water-Powered Foam Glider

Concept

The foam glider slides onto the tripod via rings. A water hose is then placed under the rear of the glider. Once the hose is turned on, the stream of water will force the glider to shoot up into the air. The child will then be able to chase the glider as it comes back down.

Physical Concept

The major physical concept involved with the foam gilder is the effect of different exit velocities on the launch height of the glider. The child will be able to see first hand how different size hoses effect the height of the glider.

Safety Features

The glider is made of a lightweight foam and is thus harmless to children. All edges on the glider are rounded to prevent injury.

Cost

The cost of this toy would be 15 - 20 dollars.

Suggested Age
