What is SLA?

SLA or Stereolithography is a rapid-prototyping process that produces a solid 3D object from a 3D CAD file in a matter of hours. It is achieved by using a computer controlled laser to cure a photo-sensitive resin, layer by layer, to obtain the 3D object. This can reduce program development lead times. The picture below shows an example of an object in the process of creation using SLA.
