Designing the Latest Fashion Statement

Description:
For this exercise we were challenge to provide a solution for the professional woman who wears glasses. We were asked to design a means of carrying either glasses or other business items such as cell phone or palm pilots in a manner that was stylish and uninhibited. Examples such a glasses chain was cited as a bad example.
What I Learned:
I found this particular design problem very difficult because it was a solution for a woman who wears glasses, I am neither of these. Understanding the needs and desires of the patron was half the problem. I learned that engineers are faced with situations which they might not be familiar with and must learn to adjust. Researching a problem can be a key factor in presenting a good design. In the end it turned out that I presented a rather bad solution, which might be good for a man in the least, because I didn't learn the important lesson until after the project was completed.
