Gleaming the Cube

Description:
In this project we were to construct a perfect cube out of cardboard using only had tools such as a matte knife, ruler and triangle. Six individual sides were cut out and assembled. Certain faces of the cube had their inner filling removed so to allow a smooth seem at the corner of the cube.
What I learned:
I understood that the point of this exercise was to learn that certain materials and certain tools can only be expected to reach a certain level of accuracy. In terms of this exercise the material (cardboard), tools (matte knife), and user (me) are all very low accuracy factors. These factors summed up to create a cube that was not quite perfect. You can see the poor seem in the picture. Since I already knew the point of the exercise I thought that I didn't really get much out of this exercise. It would have been much more interesting if we were to compare methods. For an example, show the accuracy of cutting stock aluminum with a hack saw, band saw, and milling machine.
