Exercise 1: Role Mole

I found this exercise to be somewhat tougher than other activities we have done in this class before.  I couldn't come up with any ideas for a while.  I thought about it for 5 days whenever I had some time, and it just did not come to me.  Finally I started to get some ideas and thought of a attaching the glasses on a wrist watch.  But I couldn't come up with an idea of how to stabilize the glasses on his watch, so I ruled it out.  I started to come up with a lot of ideas, but none of them seemed to be a perfect solution, so I kept ruling them out.  It was a very tough to pick which idea to go with before the actual process of making the prototype.   Finally I came up with my final solution, the arm band.  It was the first time I didn't like any of my own ideas, and it was pretty hard to deal with.  Hopefully this won't happen again.

Exercise 2: Garfield's 6 Pack Holder

This was the project that took me the most time to complete, yet was one of my favorite one so far.  First, I thought about how I could arrange the 6 cans of soda to position them with the least amount of volume waste possible.  Then I tried different kinds of possibilities that takes lesser materials and still be aesthetic.  Second, I made some testing prototypes to see if it really works.  At this point I already spent 2 full days, and I started making my prototype finally on the 3rd day.  I was learning how much time it could take if you have lots of ideas and not being able to decide which one to go with.  So I just decided to stick with one, start making, and adjust as I go along.  My prototype came out okay.  I could have done better if I planned better before I started, but then I probably couldn't have started for another week or so.  My girlfriend was interested in this exercise and made one with my testing material, within 20 minutes.  She is not a kind of person who does crafts and this kind of exercise, and I'm the one who likes to play with cardboard and making stuff like this!!  I was stunned how hers was more stable and used lesser material, and it was made in less than 20 min.
