Keyboard Layout Manager 2000 Version difference remarks Keyboard Layout Manager (KLM) 2000 has all functionality provided by earlier versions of KLM. So documentation included with KLM Lite is valid. This are some specific information regarding usage of KLM 2000. ******************************** USAGE ******************************* Keyboard keys are now divided into two groups. Character keys (numbers, letters, ...) and function keys (Fkeys, shifts, cursors, ...). They have slightly different behaviour in editor (keyboard map). By default, clicking key from first group will select it for character assignment, and clicking functional key will do nothing except for shifts and locks. Clicking with right mouse button on any key (from both groups) will produce popup menu with choice of special keys, item 'Default' and for function keys additional item 'Character'. If you want key to do its usual job, select 'Default', if you want to assign some special function select that action and if you want to assign character(s) to function keys, select 'Character'. It will transform that key in first group. If you want it transfer it back to function key, choose 'Default'. Keeping mouse pointer hovering over key, you will get tool tip, describing function assigned to key, except for pure character keys which have none. Color and caption of keys will help you decide state of key. Character keys are black normally, red if they are marked 'DeadKey', and blue if they have some function assigned. Function key are similar. Black if they are 'Default', blue if they are 'Character', and red if they have changed function. Rest is the same as with any other version of KLM. Refer to documentation included with KLM Lite. ***************************** NUMPAD NOTE ****************************** Layout file normally DOES NOT contain any definition for numeric keyboard. That is reason why it is initially empty. Be aware, if you assign any character value to numbers on NumPad, it will exclude key from NumLock influence further on.
