Subject: High

Maryland has some units that display "HIGH" on the power indicator.
However, we are running BS 4.1.6, which never indicates "High". We had some
units that we downgraded from 4.1.11 to 4.1.6. Could this be the problem?
Is it cause for concern?

Subject: AV-TS R6 Battery Charge Indication
As I keep getting asked the same questions regarding AV-TS R6 battery charge status indicators, I'm putting this to print.  Please save this email for reference purposes.

The charge status indicator definitions are as follows:

WinCE 2.12

"Charging"  indicates that AC power is present and the battery is being charged.  There is no indication on the screen as to how much charge is on the battery.

"Low" indicates that the unit is running on battery power and no AC is present.  Currently WinCE 2.12 will only show "low" regardless of the state of the battery charge.  At present software revisions (4.1.11), it is only useful as an indicator that AC is not present and the battery is the power source.

"High" indicates that the battery is disconnected from the unit (or not present), but obviously AC is present otherwise the unit wouldn't power up.

The only indicator that is working correctly is the "Charging" indicator.  The definitions above at least give you some idea as to what is really happening in the system.

WinCE 3.0

"High" is the only status displayed no matter what is happening with the power.  Even with present software revisions (4.3.5)that status display is not useful as a charge/discharge indicator.

There are software development efforts in process to display accurate charge information, but I've not seen a status update on it in some time.
