You are correct. Here is the protracted discussion (laziness overcome). Cancel write-in went from 0 (zero) in 4.1.7 to * (asterisk) in 4.1.8. This after a brief stop at 5 (five) during the 4.1.7-8 prereleases.
Looking at 4.3, it appears that this behavior was not merged forward correctly. This is fixed and will be in 4.3.10.

I thought the VIBS Write In Cancel had been changed to use the asterisk “ * ” key. Isn’t this key available on the Genovation and other keypads?
