RE: Ballot Station 4-3-9 audio ballot write-in definition/0 key

There never was nor is there a plan in effect to recall the Genovation keypads.  A need to do this was never expressed by management.  With this requirement for the other keys, we should be able to make a case for it.  I'll get some info on exposure and cost and give to management for a decision.

I think there was a protracted discussion of this on the bugtrack list some time ago (too lazy to find the ref).  The bottom line was that there were/are a bunch of accounting keypads (Genovation) in the field, so there was no separate key available to use as you suggest.  At the time I asked Piper and Hallmark whether they were being recalled, but received no answer.  I was in the Solution Center at Diebold North Canton this week, and indeed they had a Genovation sitting there.  Once these keypads are recalled, we can re-implement this to use the # key.

A character is accepted on the write-in ballot by pressing 0, yet write-in candidate name entry is cancelled by pressing 0.  Could we use separate keys for character acceptance and write-in entry cancellation?
