RE: GEMS Users Guide rev 5 for 1.17.15

The explanation of the general policies is that we are in hiatus with Guy Lancaster and Nel Finberg both gone.  The way its supposed to work is that all documentation like this gets posted to the staff site, and the staff site is protected by a revolving password announced monthly.

For now, if you have a document you would rather not broadcast to the whole Internet, put it in the incoming directory of the ftp site and post the password to the zip file to the support list.  People can at least look up the password in the archives then.  If its small enough just send the doc itself to the support list.  I don't know the password to the file you speak;  if someone does, please jump in.

I want to get this resolved, but it will have to wait until we get some people to push the rock.

Subject: GEMS Users Guide rev 5 for 1.17.15

I have checked the ftp site for GEMS Users Guide rev 5 for 1.17.15 dated Oct 2, 2001. The closest I can find is rev 4 on the ftp site. I see by the date in the zip file that rev 4 may be the right file with the wrong name, but I need the password to check.

Anybody know the password? Can somebody give me a brief explanation on the general policies regarding passwords? When to use them, how to find them, etc.

If this is the wrong file, does anyone have the latest Users Manual for GEMS 1.17.17?

Mark
