RE: Kansas Rotation Rules

Thanks, Tab.  I've asked Jeff H. to talk to the Kansas SOS. I've talked at length with Libby in Shawnee County, we'll let you know what we find out.

Frank,

I do not have a copy of the Kansas election statutes and rules handy so I do not know what their requirements are.  I suggest you talk to the state and find out what they want done in this case. This cannot be the first time this has happened in the state.  As I mentioned previously most places limit the rotation to the number of precincts. In some cases they stipulate that rotation may not occur within a precinct.

This is a question from Johnson County for their selection committee.  They expect a response from us.  Please provide us with some possible solutions.  Thanks  -  FK

This is a question to ask the state or the county.  In most places they would not create extra precincts and would only rotate as many times as possible for the given number of precincts.

State law requires that each candidate appear at the top of the ballot.  How can this be accomplished when there is a race with more candidates than there are precincts???  Would we create more splits???
