RE: VCProgrammer - GEMS Extract File to Start Program

It should zip pretty impressively as well, 'though no matter how you cut it you aren't going to get all that data onto a floppy.

Yes, it is the GEMS Export Card Data function that creates the VOTERDATA.TXT file.  Here in LA, it is a 74MB file.  We are going to connect the host computer via network tomorrow to get the file onto a DIMS computer.  We will probably have to either do it via network connections or get a CD read/write rom drive and create a CD for the PC's that will be used for creating the Voter Cards.

A good job was done on the VCProgrammer User Guide for installation process.  It is good to have something to look at.  One main question arises.

The doc indicates that VC Programmer is looking for a file called VoterData.txt.  GEMS has an Export Card Data function.  Is that the program that makes the file we need?  If so, it creates a 9MB file.  I haven't tried it yet, because it creates a 9Mb file and obviously the PC has no Imation drive on it.  I'll wait for Tab to comment.  Maybe I have the wrong Export?  So bottom line is "How does the VOTERDATA.TXT file get created in GEMS?"
