RE: Add separate initial instruction text file to VIBS write-in section

That should work fine. It may be a little redundant in the initial stage, but that should not be a real prob if I structure the text with this in mind.

Text to follow soon.

Okay, but understand that what I am proposing to play both VIBS_WI_Welcome and VIBS_WI_Instuctions at the beginning, rather than instead of.  Its just more consistent with the way the main instructions work.  One real problem with doing the instead of approach is backward compatibility.  Setups with old TSText will continue to work fine if we play both -- they'll just not have the greeting/elaboration.  I would prefer to do it that way if it works for you.

Can you work inside this framework?  If VIBS_WI_Instuctions is a synopsis of VIBS_WI_Welcome, it might be a bit redundant playing them both the beginning.  Please post the script you had in mind.  I need something to put into our TSText package at least initially.

Glad to hear it.

Actually, this will allow me to get some detailed initial instructions in, without having them repeat throughout the write-in session. This will be a big help, I hope. I am looking to give a fairly detailed instructions set at first, then once a voter presses a key to select a letter, the instructions would revert to a brief version. The brief version would be repeated then, throughout the rest of the write-in session.

Not too difficult.  It worked that way initially, and then we changed it to
just one instruction clip because it didn't seem worth it.  We can
concatenate a VIBS_WI_Welcome with VIBS_WI_Instuctions at the beginning.
That is, until the user presses their first key.  Only VIBS_WI_Instructions
would repeat after that.  This is analogous to the main VIBS welcome and
instructions.

I have to ask though, what would this script actually say?  "Welcome to the
audio ballot write-in entry"???  Are you sure that is worth the breath?
