RE: AVTS - Voter Summary Page

There are two requests here.  One regarding the printing of a summary page (from Knecht), and one regarding a summary screen that you can touch to jump you back to the race to be changed (from Frank).  They are different.  The former (printing) is an unacceptable misfeature, IMO.  The latter is planned for the CE rewrite.

There is one major outstanding implementation question I posted on the support list today:  where to get the race title.  We do not store this as a separate multilingual text entity currently.  We can not make progress on this RCR without an answer to this issue.

What is the nature of the 2/15 deadline?  It will not be met.

The original RCR was placed by Steve Knecht on behalf of  Frank Kaplan.  The ELEX System also provides this feature.  They had it at the Election Center Conference 18 months ag.

Upon touching the race to be changed on the summary screen the voter is "moved" to the race to be changed with the Sequoia Pacific system.

Is it possible this "Summary" functionality could be available for the Alameda and LA elections?  We would need completion by around 2/15.

Thanks.

Subject: AVTS - Voter Summary Page

Background: Based on feedback from registrars, we are battling the concept of printing a Voter Record of the voter's choices on a piece of paper.  Yes bad idea. I suppose it would lead to some multipart printer that would provide one copy for the Registrar and one for the voter.  NONE OF US THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA...so we are battling.

Request: It would give us some ammo to have a summary of the voter's choices displayed in summary form on the last page along with the review and cast ballot buttons.  This way the voter could review, verify what they voted for, and then press Cast ballot on the same page (or go back and change it).  Our competitors (Hart) do this and it is a minimal step necessary to fight this printout idea.  We may or may not win this. Apparently the Brazil system does this in some fashion and has gotten some attention.
