RE: Flagging a smart card as voted prior to the CAST BALLOT



I was just waiting for that response.  Is it possible to have this disabling run in the background after the fist touch of the screen. 

 

If we can have the card disabling during the voting process, what would be the perception of the voter he/she sees the light on the smart card light up during voting.  Just throwing this out there for comments.

I can understand the speed benefits of the original move from the opening of the ballot.  And I can understand the logic behind placing the process at the end.  But why not place it in between those two points when the voter's hands are busy making selections rather than pulling out voter cards prematurely?
