Re: Creating AV-TS databases on computer floppy drives

This item is for the convenience of field support and sales.

Someone like Jane Barth or Tari Runyan needs to hookup an AV-TS unit to her laptop to create a database on a floppy disk.  There is a perfectly convenient floppy drive on her laptop already.  These old AV-TS units exist in the field today and they will exist in the field tomorrow.  The company is not going to eat that inventory.

Until the new unit becomes available for demonstrations and production, sales continues to demo the concept of touch screen voting with the old unit.  They can't even demonstrate the uploading of results unless they have an AV-TS unit connected to their laptops.

For versatility's sake with the new unit, you should consider having the ability to download/upload a flash RAM on a GEMS computer.

Ian,

There is no point in us doing this since the new AVTS unit will not be using floppy disks.

I would formally like to make a request to have the ability to download/upload AV-TS data to/from a GEMS computer's floppy drive.

This would be in addition to the current method where you have to attach an AV-TS unit through an Ethernet connection to gain access to an AV-TS floppy drive.
