For background colors, what is listed in the ballot spec is it. In order to read blue pen marks, we needed the reader to emit a color of light that absorbs blue. That color of light is red (actually a pumpkin orange). This means that blue (and green ballots) look dark to the reader and it can't see light marks on a dark background. Frank Kaplan has had experience with color striping. In the past, color striping has made the most economical sense. Sincerely: Ian |
