TCODS Example Vector Fields
Keenan Crane - November 29, 2011
--------------------------------

This directory contains a few tangent vector fields created by the "Comb"
application, which is an implementation of the algorithm described in

Crane, Desbrun, and Schroeder, "Trivial Connections on Discrete Surfaces,"
   Computer Graphics Forum (SGP) 29 (5), 2010.

(We kindly ask that you cite this paper if the data is used in an academic
publication.) Files are in the "OBJX" format, which is exactly like a standard
Wavefront OBJ file except that it includes additional lines of the form

   vf [x] [y] [z]

specifying the (x,y,z) coordinates of a tangent vector at each vertex. Each
mesh comes with a preview (PNG) image; images with the suffix "halfindex"
use singularities with fractional indices.

Additional vector fields can easily be generated by using the Comb executable,
available from

   http://users.cms.caltech.edu/~keenan/project_tcods.html

Original mesh data comes from the Stanford 3D Scanning Repository and the
AIM@Shape project.
