Kiran Bhat

Hello and welcome to my web-page!

I am a lead engineer with the R&D group at Industrial Light & Magic, working on graphics and vision algorithms for visual effects and computer games. My current research focus is facial animation and performance capture. Before joining ILM, I was working as a Research Scientist in the Algorithms group at Epson Palo Alto Lab.

I graduated with a Ph.D in Robotics from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. My areas of interest span computer vision, computer graphics and robotics. While at Carnegie Mellon, I was a part of the CMU Graphics group, and advised by Prof. Steven Seitz, Prof. Pradeep Khosla and Prof. Jessica Hodgins. I also spent a few great summers in Seattle working at University of Washington's graphics lab GRAIL.
