Always use encrypted connections
- telnet on unix = ktelnet = secure
- ssh, ssh-agent
- on windows: ttssh by roc@cs, cygwin+openssh, nifty telnet, puTTY
- on mac: nifty telnet

- VNC (java, strong authentication, no encryption) + ssh (details)

To move files between machines
- Use afs
