February Critical Windows Security Patches
February 15, 2008
Microsoft released new patches for critical Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) vulnerabilities on February 12, 2008.
* All Windows PCs must be patched. *
To patch your PC:
Click on the update icon on the taskbar (it is a globe or yellow shield with an exclamation point, depending on which version of Windows you're running).
If you do not have such an icon, run Windows Update by going to the site:http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
All Office 2000 users should also go to the site:http://officeupdate.microsoft.com
After patching, you must reboot your PC in order for the patches to take effect.
If you are using Microsoft Office 2004 on a Macintosh, you should install the Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.4.0 Update:http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#Office2004
After patching, you must reboot your PC in order for the patches to take effect.
Please contact help@cs.cmu.edu or call the SCS Help Desk (x8-4231) if you have questions or problems with applying these patches.
