The Fall of the House of Belhor

Introduction

----------------------------------------------------------------------

There are many things that Frankel dislikes. And there are many people whom Frankel dislikes. Even a casual observer could tell you that foremost among these is a bandit and horse thief named Tiger. Frankel has searched for information about Tiger everywhere from the Cloudlands to the Acheron Dustplane, and though what he's learned has made him a lot angrier, it hasn't gotten him a lot closer.

Ganeth has been reduced to a pile of goo in a glass coffin. Silvana expects to be stirring the organic soup for the next three or four months. Stealth and Pepper are on guard against interference by the devils and their proxies. Lorcan has reached priest-6, and some of the rescued centaurs and local gnomes have joined his wom team. A halfling scout named Ahlonna has shown an aptitude for wom and a fascination with Nuket (and Lorcan). Frankel has trained for ranger-8 and knows that Tiger is still out there somewhere.

One of Lady Ylena's operatives, a human called Meldrim, has returned from his posting near the Banditlands, where Derdriu is holding on to one of three keeps still in Western hands (Rogtymark's keep, with Derdriu's shrine to Belhor; for reference, the other two are the Hollerith Library/Rogtubbins' keep and the Circular City/Rogthermal's keep). He's reported that many of the Western bandits have joined forces (not necessarily voluntarily) and are massing in some ruins about a day's ride from the keep, and there are indications that they're planning to attack said keep in the fairly near future. And just to keep life interesting, apparently some of these bandits are immune to normal weapons. Ylena wants the party to prevent the attack without causing a bloodbath.

The bandit horde is led by Tiger, and Frankel is getting his shot.

Most of the party's spell power (including the bulk of the healing) is otherwise engaged, but hey, it's only a bunch of bandits, right?
