Well, maybe it's not as bad as being stranded on the drow plane, but being stuck in the middle of the Marakeel Empire isn't exactly a picnic either. Nobody but Beeel speaks the language, elves, centaurs, and unicorns are very conspicuous, anyone who encounters the party is obligated to report them to the authorities, and lots of Eastern adventurers (especially the Ravens) would love a crack at those Western elven heroes once word gets out. So the only way to avoid being hunted by half of the Empire seems to be a policy of no chatting with NPCs, no accepting surrenders, no witnesses, and no survivors -- but is the Cutting Edge of Good ready to go scorched earth?
And even if the party isn't spotted by passersby, the Easterers are very, very good at divination, so there's a good chance they'd intercept sendings to the West or attempts to contact Plant Dude -- thus, no way to let anyone know where they are. And it's probably only a matter of time before Ganeth's still-conspicuous Red One energy pile or Silvana's Whitemoon energy signature register somewhere, bringing down all sorts of problems.
While the party has cut off Kharnzeel's source of karfu, there's no knowing how many invisible black birds are already doing surveillance over the East or what the insanity faction will do with knowledge of the party's whereabouts.
As the party moves toward Banzeel on the first leg of their trip, they also head toward the Shorin contacts and operations there. As they go around Banzeel and make toward Lifeblood, they move closer to Rakni's strongholds in Silverton and the Deadlands...and she still hasn't gotten to retaliate for the strike on Silverton. And what Lifeblood holds in the wake of the demonic tree affair is another open question.
The party is somewhere between two and six days away from Lifeblood on horseback; you can bet there won't be many Days of Healing in the meantime.
Stay tuned...
