OSLO, May 25 (AFP) - Norway's Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik will meet the new Russian premier Sergei Stepashin in Moscow later this week, official sources said Tuesday. Bondevik will leave for Arkhangelsk in northwestern Russia on Wednesday, on the first leg of a three-day official visit to Russia. Political talks will take place in Moscow on Friday, with the Kosovo conflict and Norway's chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on top of the agenda. Bondevik will be the second leader from a NATO country, following French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, to meet Stepashin, who was sworn in as Russia's new premier last week. The two prime ministers will also discuss bilateral matters, notably on economic cooperation, and are to sign several bilateral agreements, a spokesman for the prime minister's office said in Oslo. "Relations between Norway and Russia are excellent, despite the on-going war in the Balkans," informed sources here said. During his visit, Bondevik will meet Russian industrial leaders and discuss international affairs with the leaders of the State Duma and the Federation Council, and he will also see Patriarch Alexei II, head of the Russian Orthodox Church. Norway and Russia have for many years been discussing the disputed dividing line in the Barents Sea, but no breakthrough is expected during this visit. Officials from both sides have been meeting on a regular basis to explore ways to solve this issue, but neither Russia nor Norway have seemed pressed to find a solution. Bondevik was due to visit Russia in March last year, but the visit was postponed due to diplomatic quarrels after Norway expelled two Russian diplomats over spying allegations. But last December, the then Russian premier Yevgeny Primakov renewed an invitation to Bondevik.
