BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Toronto Blue Jays activated designated hitter Dave Hollins from the 15-day disabled list before tonight's game against the Boston Red Sox. Hollins, who is hitting .233 with one RBI in 10 games this season, was placed on the DL on April 18 with a fractured left hand. Normally a switch-hitter, he will bat exclusively from the right side. The 32-year-old has 110 home runs and 477 RBI in 950 games for the Blue Jays, Philadelphia, Boston, Minnesota, Seattle and Anaheim. He enjoyed his best seasons with the Phillies, hitting a career-best 27 homers with 93 RBI and a .270 average in 1992. The Blue Jays also announced third baseman Willie Greene has cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Syracuse. Greene was hitting .156 with two homers and 13 RBI in 30 games. They also made a series of moves after Thursday's 7-0 victory over Detroit, optioning infielder-outfielder Kevin Witt to Syracuse and purchasing the contract of outfielder Patrick Lennon. Lennon was batting .336 with nine homers and 33 RBI in 37 games with the SkyChiefs.
