SPORTSTICKER AL PREVIEW (ANAHEIM-TAMPA BAY) ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Angels look to complete a winning road trip today when they battle the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the rubber game of a three-game series. Mo Vaughn singled home Darin Erstad with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Saturday as the Angels banged out 16 hits en route to an 8-6 victory over Tampa Bay. The Angels already have assured themselves of at least a .500 road trip, going 3-2 on a six-game journey that ends today. Anaheim opens a nine-game homestand on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Anaheim starts lefthander Chuck Finley (2-4, 5.23 ERA), who is looking to rebound from Tuesday's 5-3 loss at Baltimore in which he allowed five runs and seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. Finley has dropped four of his last five decisions, with his only victory being a 1-0 win over the New York Yankees on May 12. Despite Saturday's loss, the Devil Rays have won five of their last seven games. The Devil Rays go with righthander Ryan Rupe (1-1, 4.82), who is seeking his second major league victory. He posted a 13-3 win at Texas in his last outing on Monday, yielding three runs and four hits over seven innings. The 6-5, 230-pound Rupe got a no-decision against Kansas City in his major league debut on May 5 before dropping a 2-1 decision to Minnesota on May 11. Rupe was Tampa Bay's sixth draft choice last June from Texas A&M University and is the first Devil Rays' draftee to reach the big leagues. He went 2-2 with a 2.73 ERA in five games this season at Double-A Orlando before being called up.
