MADRID, Spain (Ticker) -- Top seed Lindsay Davenport of the United States appears ready for the French Open. Davenport reached the final of the $180,000 Yellow Pages Open claycourt tournament today by wiping out countrywoman and seventh seed Amy Frazier, 6-0, 6-2. In Saturday's final, she will meet Argentine qualifier Paola Suarez. Suarez outlasted fourth-seeded American Chanda Rubin, 7-5, 2-6, 6-1, today. Competing in her first event in over a month due to a wrist injury, Davenport stormed past ninth seed Anna Smashnova of Israel, 6-1, 6-3, on Thursday to reach her third semifinal in only seven events this year. Suarez, ranked No. 109 in the world, knocked off second seed Patty Schnyder on Wednesday and sixth seed Magui Serna on Thursday. Seeded second at next week's French Open, Davenport is competing in her first event since a third-round loss to Anna Kournikova at the Bausch & Lomb Championships at Amelia Island, Florida. She claimed her only title in Sydney, Australia in January and reached the semifinals at the Australian Open. First prize is $27,000.
