PARIS, May 23 (AFP) - British duo Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski are both seeded for the men's singles at the French Open - but neither player has any serious ambitions of winning the second Grand Slam tournament of the year. Putting it bluntly, both are rank outsiders on the slow red clay at Roland Garros. Henman, the seventh seed, has played here three times without winning a match, while Rusedski, seeded 12, has won just three matches in four appearances. Last year, both men lost on the opening day. This time around they are hopeful of doing a little, if not a lot, better after promising - albeit largely losing - performances at the World Team Cup in Dusseldorf. Both Britons have drawn tricky first-round matches, with Rusedski facing German left-hander David Pronosil and Henman playing Moroccan baseliner Hicham Arazi. "I have never been further than the third round here," said Rusedski. "So I would view reaching the second week as a real accomplishment." Henman says he's playing well and hopes that translates into a win against Alami. "I have always been home on the first Monday night of the French Open, but if I can keep playing the way I have been I can change that this year," he said.
