PARIS, May 23 (AFP) - Andre Agassi, in doubt with an injury to his right shoulder, on Sunday showed he is ready to contest the French Open - which begins at Roland Garros on Monday morning. Agassi played a pro-set with Spanish clay court expert Francisco Clavet as part of a pre-tournament charity day and played impressively as he won the contest 9-7. The American showed no signs of being hampered by the injury, which he aggravated during the World Team Cup in Dusseldorf earlier in the week. The same ailment forced him to miss the Monte Carlo Open after he had earlier won an event in Hong Kong and doctors had said his chances of playing in Paris were "slim". Agassi, who has won the US Open, Wimbledon and Australian Open titles in the past and needs a French Open crown to complete a Grand Slam set, faces Argentine clay court specialist Franco Squillari in his opening match here. Agassi, seeded 13 at the age of 29, was runner-up at Roland Garros in 1990 and 1991 but has not made it past the second round the last two years.
