ANAHEIM, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamic Details, Inc. ("DDi"), announced its financial results for the 1st quarter 1999. On May 14, 1999, DDi filed its quarterly report on Form 10-Q for this period with the Securities and Exchange Commission. DDi is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of complex printed circuit boards ("PCBs") for the time-critical, or "quick-turn" segment of the domestic PCB industry, as well as for longer-lead PCBs, backplanes, and other interconnects. The following results include references to pro-forma information. Information provided on this basis presents DDi's results as if the acquisition of Dynamic Circuits, Inc. (DCI) in July 1998 had occurred at the beginning of 1998. The pro-forma information also excludes non-recurring charges incurred in connection with this acquisition. For the three months ended March 31, 1999, net sales were $59.2 million, up $31 million (110%) from $28.2 million for the first quarter 1998. This increase resulted primarily from the acquisition of DCI. On a pro-forma basis, sales for the three months ended March 31, 1999 decreased $9.2 million (13%) from $68.4 million for the first quarter 1998. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) for the three months ended March 31, 1999, excluding non-cash expense allocations of $.6 million from its parent, was $13.8 million, up $3.7 million (37%) from $10.1 million for the first quarter 1998. This increase resulted primarily from the acquisition of DCI, partially offset by a decrease in operating margins. On a pro-forma basis, EBITDA for the three months ended March 31, 1999, excluding the non-cash expense allocation, decreased $5.1 million (27%) from $18.9 for the first quarter 1998. This decrease was due to lower operating margins, which were impacted by the lower level of sales. EBITDA for the three months ended March 31, 1999, as adjusted, represented 23% of sales for that period.
