15-815 Automated Theorem Proving Week 1 Proposal - 3 / 26 / 04 - Draft 1 Green Team: Kevin Donnelly Tyler Gibson Neel Krishnaswami Stephen Magill Sungwoo Park In the coming week we propose to work on the following: - Theoretical preliminaries for inverse propositional BI - Turn sequent calc to an inverse method - Decide on feasability of implementing - Formulate implementation strategies - Agree on interfaces and split implementation work - Begin to formulate propositional focusing system - Think about theory, implementation strategies, issues and interfaces for the extension of inverse method and inverse focusing to the first order case for BI. - Collect test cases for propositional and first-order BI. - A focusing inverse propositional prover for IL - Retro-fit one of our inverse propositional IL provers to use focusing - An inverse propositional prover for BI - Begin implementation We will mostly use the next week to think about the issues involved in building a BI prover and to decide on the feasibility of implementing one for this project. We will also work in parallel to extend an implementation of the inverse method for IL to the focusing method. By the end of the week we hope to solidly have down the theory and plan for implementation of an inverse propositional prover for BI, a good amount of the theory for a focusing inverse method for propositional BI and the beginnings of the theory for an inverse and focusing inverse method for first order BI.
