My parents and my whole family are in Bulgaria, with the exception of my cousin (she is in Boston). They are very important to me and I would not have been what I am without their constant support and love. I owe them more that I can ever give back. I hope they know it.

Kimi, my kitty, is also in Bulgaria, living with my parents. He really is quite old (might be a grandpa in cat years), but for me he will always be a little kitty :-) Kimi is a vicious little beast and I have a few scars to prove it. I still love him, though. Which proves again that love is blind... :-). We got him when I was 12. This means that he is about half my age - how strange to think of him this way. His birthday is exactly 12 years and one month after mine. So this is what 12 years feel like... I almost thought I've always had him, and at the same time, I almost thought that I had gotten him just yesterday. It was just yesterday that his head was falling onto the milk saucer, because kittens' heads are so disproportionately large, compared to their bodies. I guess this is true for babies as well, but I have not had a baby, and I *have* had a kitten.

Pictures and more to come here soon.

Here is a picture of me and my cousin. It's a strange picture - I have much better ones, in more sensible situations, too, but it's the only one I have handy right now.

This is us in my cousin's apartment in Boston, on Christmas morning, 1999, opening presents, still in our PJs. Notice, we both got hats from Santa, and I also got a new sweater. My cousin's Australian boyfriend, Brad, is taking the picture, and I happen to remember that that year one of the things he got was a cool calendar from Buba - just what he always wanted! *wink*

We had so much fun that Christmas! They invited me to spend Christmas with them and I came all the way from Sewanee! Then I went to NY for meet the New Millennium with my friends and a few million other people on Times Square - was great! It's good that crazy things like that only happen once a millennium, though :-) Maybe I'll get around to posting here those pictures from Times Square at some point... You can actually see the ball drop!
