Problem: When I click on the file, it asks me where I would like to download it to or tells me that I do not have the right plug-in to run the file

Solution(s):

• Did you install Shockwave correctly? Follow the instructions provided here first.
• For Netscape, under the "OPTIONS" menu, select the first choice for "GENERAL PREFERENCES". Next, select the tab labeled "HELPERS".
  • Look down the left hand side under the heading "DESCRIPTION" for something labeled "DIRECTOR" or ".DCR/.DIR"
  • Highlight that line.
  • Next, select "EDIT".
  • Under the "HANDLED BY" section, select "PLUG-IN".
  • With the small pull-down menu to the right, select Shockwave for Director.
  • You're done! - you may need to re-start Netscape for these changes to take place.
